The Department of Spanish and Portuguese is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Portuguese, beginning September 1, 2019 or later, with the possibility of renewal pending departmental need and satisfactory performance. Appointment duty time will depend upon course enrollments; initially, it is expected that the successful candidate will teach for approximately three classroom hours per week throughout the relevant appointment period (not benefits-eligible). Native or near-native fluency in Portuguese and English, and proven experience in teaching Portuguese language, or Luso-Brazilian studies are essential. Master's degree or enrollment in a Ph.D. program required; Ph.D. or M.A. working toward Ph.D. preferred. Preference will be given to candidates with a background in Luso-Brazilian Studies, Linguistics, SLA, or Applied Linguistics, although other fields will also be considered. Proficiency in the use of technologies for the language classroom a plus. Interested candidates should apply online at https://www.princeton.edu/acad-positions/position/11041.
