Research Programs Manager
Description:
The Engagement Lab at Emerson College is an applied research and design lab that investigates and creates media and technology to reduce disparities in civic participation. The Research is responsible for helping to develop and administer all Lab programs. Because of their familiarity with all Lab projects, this person will also guide communication strategy and creation of website content, newsletters, and social media.
Campus Location: Boston Campus
Required Knowledge:
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
• Experience with digital technology and social media.
• Proficient computer skills (i.e., Google docs, Adobe Suite, etc.).
• Experience managing multi-streamed project ques and prioritization across projects.
• Good judgment in decision-making and priority setting.
Preferred/Desirable Knowledge:
• 3-5 years of work experience in program/project management preferable in a start-up or community nonprofit environment. • Master’s degree or equivalent experience. • Be passionate about solving civic problems with art, design, and technology, and participatory research methods. • Have the ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion with confidential information. • Be comfortable with a fast paced and ever-changing work environment. • Have excellent negotiation skills. • Be creative and willing to play (even during work hours). • Be a professional, proactive, collaborative, conscientious and results-oriented individual. • Have an optimistic and positive demeanor.
