Instructor/Assistant Professor of Cybersecurity

Job Description: Germanna Community College is seeking an innovative and collaborative individual to join the faculty as an Instructor/Associate Professor of Cybersecurity. The successful candidate will teach a variety of cybersecurity classes. The successful candidate will teach both day and evening courses at any college location teaching a minimum of 30 credits per year (fall/spring) five courses each semester. Current Industry Certifications such as: CompTIA Security+, CCNA, CISSP, CEH are preferred. The College desires applicants with a commitment to the community college mission; teaching, learning, and student success; integration of learning outcomes assessment into course development and teaching; use of current and emerging technologies to enhance instruction; and integration of global perspectives in instruction. Finalists will be invited to present a short sample lesson.

This is a full-time nine-month faculty position.

Salary is commensurate with rank and credentials plus State benefits.

Appointment date: August 16, 2019.

Position will be filled contingent upon available funding.

Minimum Requirements: Masters in Cybersecurity or Information Technology, (or related discipline) from an accredited institution and college-level teaching experience. At least two years of work experience in Cybersecurity.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Masters in Cybersecurity or Information Technology from an accredited institution and college-level teaching experience
• Experience with curriculum development, assessment, use of instructional technology, certified for online instruction
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Community college teaching experience
• Demonstrated student learning and student success in courses taught
