Two visiting assistant professor positions in mathematics, September 1, 2019 – June 30, 2020. The department of mathematics and statistics seeks outstanding teachers with research interests that closely mesh with those of the continuing mathematics faculty in the department. The teaching responsibility is 5 courses per year, with a likely 3-2 distribution across the two semesters.

Candidates must have a Ph.D. in mathematics and must have significant teaching experience as instructors of record. To apply, please provide a cover letter, a CV, a one-page statement on teaching, a concise statement outlining your research program, official summary sheets from most recent course evaluations, and one recent publication or preprint you are most proud of. Your cover letter should address your commitment to the liberal arts and to promoting diversity in the discipline of mathematics, while your teaching statement should describe your preparation procedures for teaching a calculus class.

Please arrange for at least four letters of recommendation to be submitted directly by the recommenders, at least two of which should focus on your teaching and mentoring experience, and at least two – on your research profile.
