The Nutrition and Foods Program at Texas State University invites applications to fill a 9-month (academic year) Senior Lecturer position with possible summer teaching. This position renews annually.

As part of the School of Family and Consumer Sciences, the Nutrition and Foods Program offers a baccalaureate degree in nutrition and foods (3 tracks, including an accredited Dietetics Program). The program also offers an accredited Dietetic Internship with a concentration in child nutrition that includes graduate level coursework, as well as an MS degree in human nutrition.

Responsibilities include: Teach courses in nutrition, including a diverse array of courses that may include nutrition and health (for non-majors), nutrition science (for majors), nutritional assessment, food science, food systems, nutrition and physiology, sports nutrition, medical nutrition therapy, biochemical nutrition, and career exploration in nutrition and foods. Advise students regarding career trajectories, including graduate school and dietetic internships; and participate in service at the program, school and university level.

Required Qualifications

Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate hours in nutrition;
Registered Dietitian; and
Teaching experience at college level in nutrition.

Preferred Qualifications

PhD in nutrition or related area;
Work experience in nutrition and health related fields; and
Experience working with diverse populations.
