Position Information Classification Title External Affairs Manager Pay Grade 083 FLSA Exempt Job Family Business And Finance FTE 1.00 Minimum Qualifications Preferred Qualifications Position SummaryReporting to the Associate Controller and Director of Post Award Accounting this position supervises the daily operations of the professional and clerical staff of the department; assists University departments with sponsored project financial matters; responsible for overseeing the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports and billings to sponsors, including indirect cost recovery; ensure University compliance with federal, state and local laws and regulations to contracts, grants, cooperative agreements and other binding documents.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or CompetenciesStrong organizational and analytical skills
Knowledge of Federal regulations affecting sponsored projects administration
Ability to keep accurate records and complete timely reports
Ability to train and clearly articulate procedures and practices
Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
Knowledge of University policies and procedures
Knowledge of supervisory principles and practices
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Power Point, Excel

Duties/Responsibilities Duties/ResponsibilitiesAdministrative responsibilities including supervision and performance evaluation of staff. Coordinates the invoicing, reporting and award team development. Provides assistance with problem resolution as needed to include sub-recipient monitoring problem solving.
Percentage of time 25 Duties/Responsibilities Duties/ResponsibilitiesReview and approve final invoices and reports. Ensure reports are accurate and completed as required under the terms of the contracts, grants and agreements as awarded.
