Job Title Lecturer in Criminal Justice
Job Description
The University of North Texas at Dallas invites applications for a for a full-time faculty position in Criminal Justice, beginning Fall 2019. For best consideration, applications should be submitted by March 1, 2019.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach the equivalent of 4 courses per semester and to assist in further development of the UNTD Criminal Justice Department. UNT Dallas offers faculty the unique opportunity to help shape the character of a 21st century, learner-focused, urban comprehensive university.

Expectations for non-tenure track faculty at UNTD include excellence in teaching and service, resulting in contributions equivalent to a four-course load each semester. This workload expectation can be fulfilled through a combination of teaching and program development or other duties assigned by the department. Faculty are also expected to participate in such service activities as curriculum development, online course development, student recruiting and advising, program assessment, project development, program leadership, coordinating service learning, and committee leadership.

Minimum Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess the following required qualifications:

• Master's Degree in Criminology, Criminal Justice, or a closely related discipline.
• Evidence or demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching.
• Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing and teaching online courses.
• Demonstrated experience in teaching undergraduate courses in Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure.
• Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in curriculum development and developing interdisciplinary programs.
• Experience in service activities to a university and community.

Preferred Qualifications
The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications:

• Ph.D. in Criminology, Criminal Justice, or a closely related discipline; J.D.
• Experience working in the field of law specifically in criminal law litigation
• Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing service learning and experiential learning in curricular and co-curricular settings
• Academic experience working on a university campus with a culturally diverse population

Physical requirements necessary to perform essential job functions
Work is primarily sedentary. Sits comfortably to do the work; however, there may be some walking, standing, bending, or lifting items weighing up to 15 pounds.
