Position Title: Executive Director of Human Resources

Salary: Low $100s, commensurate with experience

Qualifications:

Master's degree in a relevant field, a minimum of ten (10) years of increasingly responsible human resources experience and direct experience working with labor unions and unionized faculty and staff required. Higher education experience strongly preferred. SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) or SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) credential preferred.



Duties:

Manages employment (recruitment and sourcing diverse candidate pools); talent management; employee and labor relations; cost effective and competitive total compensation (wages and benefits); retirement plan administration; performance management, coaching and guiding faculty, staff and administrators; negotiating and administering collective bargaining agreements with four different unions; managing an integrated HRIS and data/record management systems in partnership with other departments.

The successful Executive Director will be a partner with campus leaders and work collaboratively to build and manage relationships across the college and to cultivate a strong partnership with the President and Cabinet and other leaders on campus serving as a key advisor. This position functions as both HR practitioner as well as an internal consultant, and functions as an employee advocate to all faculty and staff employed at the College.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate excellent analytical skills and the ability to resolve issues, problem solve and mitigate risks; ability to communicate information in an understandable fashion to varied audiences; maintain an understanding of policies, procedures, regulations and collective bargaining matters relevant to HR; possess excellent communication skills and a demonstrated ability to relationship build and to provide a caring and collegial demeanor necessary to foster effective working relationships.
