The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences is seeking applicants for two full-time postdoctoral fellow positions in biophysics, biochemistry or pharmaceutical sciences in the laboratory of Dr. Krishna Mallela. The research is focused on understanding the causes of protein instability and aggregation in the course of vaccine development. This work is part of a multi-investigator, federally-funded project to identify approaches for mitigating protein instability and aggregation and thus enhancing vaccine effectiveness. The successful candidate will use multiple biophysical approaches to examine underlying mechanisms of protein stability, folding, and aggregation. The candidate will also work closely with Drs. David Bain and John Carpenter’s laboratories to identify approaches for mitigating such effects.

QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:
A Ph.D. in biophysics, biochemistry, biophysical chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences or a closely related field.  Candidates with strong knowledge and experience in protein biophysical characterization or structural biology are highly desirable. As per the federal funding agency requirements, U.S. citizens or permanent residents are strongly encouraged to apply.
