The successfulcandidates will have recent psychiatric mental health nursing experience and atrack record of excellence in academic teaching. Responsibilities includeparticipation in the teaching, practice, and service mission of the College ofNursing and the University of Colorado.  Demonstrationof academic leadership such as curricular/program development is preferred. Aportion of the position may be devoted to clinical practice depending on thecandidate’s experience and expertise. Within the College of Nursing, serviceand scholarship to the University and the College are an expectation of allfaculty members.

 

This full-time positioninvolves didactic and clinical teaching responsibilities. Didactic courses aretaught in the classroom, online, or in blended formats. Supervision of clinicalcourses includes clinical conferences using online conferencing and closecommunication with clinical preceptors.

 Duties:
  • Instruct and facilitatemeaningful learning of the course outcomes in the curriculum and proactivelysupport all facets of the learning environment.
  • Provide education throughlearning-centered instruction that will enable graduates to fulfill theevolving needs of the marketplace.
  • Encourage a culture oflearning that values mutual responsibility and respect, life-long learning,diversity and ethics as well as personal and professional development.
  • Participate in activitiesthat promote the stature of the academic programs and the College of Nursing aswell as abide by the mandates set by the University of Colorado, and theCollege of Nursing.
  • Devotes 20% to clinicalpractice to assist with preceptorship or remediation and evaluation of undergraduatestudents.
  • Accepts teachingassignments within the College of Nursing as determined by Assistant/AssociateDean.
  • Participates in course,curricular and program revisions / development.

QualificationsMinimumQualifications:
  • Mastersin Nursing
  • Doctoratedegree in Nursing, such as DNP or PhD
  • Experiencein psychiatric mental health nursing
  • Eligiblefor Colorado State Advanced Practice Nursing License, in good standing.
  • Qualifiedfor rank of Instructor, Senior Instructor or Assistant Professor in theNon-Tenure Clinical Teaching Track
  • Holdcurrent ANCC certification as an Advanced Practice Psychiatric Mental HealthNurse Practitioner
  • Eligiblefor provisional or full prescriptive authority in the state of Colorado. 

PreferredQualifications:

  • Experiencein teaching psychiatric mental health nursing courses.
  • Clinicalor teaching experience with psychiatric mental health
  • Demonstrationof academic leadership such as curricular/program development
