The University ofColorado School of Medicine’s Department of Physical Medicine andRehabilitation currently seeks a faculty member at the Assistant Professorlevel or higher to provide oncologic rehabilitation in outpatient andinpatients settings and general physiatric care.  This individual will be tasked with establishingan oncology-based rehabilitative program. The position will also educate andmentor students, residents, allied care professionals, as well as engage incancer rehabilitation and wellness research. This position will be based at theAnschutz Medical Campus with clinical work at the University of ColoradoHospital, part of the UCHealth hospital system.

 

Duties in this facultyposition include clinical responsibilities such as assuming responsibility forpatients’ quality, safety, outcomes, and satisfaction; maintaining compliancewith regulatory and accreditation requirements; and fostering an environment ofcontinuous improvement. Clinical responsibilities could include outpatientclinics, hospital-based consultative services and general inpatient services(acute inpatient rehabilitation unit).  While not required, there is also anopportunity to provide electrodiagnostic services through RehabilitationMedicine service at the University of Colorado Hospital. Applicants will alsobe expected to grow the relationship between Oncology/Cancer Center andPM&R. Clinical services could also expand into several satellite hospitalsand clinics in the Denver metropolitan area.

 

Teaching responsibilitiesinclude participating in the education of Physical medicine and Rehabilitationresidents, medical students, and allied care professionals.

 

Research responsibilitiesinclude actively pursuing participation in research activities such asmentoring residents and other faculty in research endeavors.

QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:
Board certified/board eligible in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and possess or are eligible for a Colorado State Medical License Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience providing inpatient and outpatient care and consultation in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
  • Experience in Cancer Rehabilitative Care or completion of a Cancer Rehabilitation Fellowship.
