This is a full-time temporary position employed from May 1, 2019 to September 30, 2019.

Employee must be a naturally persuasive, creative problem solver who thrives in an upbeat environment with non-standard and varied working hours. A self-motivated, enthusiastic, goal-oriented individual with superior presentation, organizational, and interpersonal skills and will have demonstrated ability to follow direction, problem solve, manage multiple priorities and meet goals. This is a sales-like admissions and prospect management approach to help support recruiters that are responsible for reaching enrollment and net revenue goals assigned to them. Daily responsibilities include communication with a large number of prospective graduate students through heavy outreach. Phone calls, personal e-mails, notes, individual appointments, and group presentations are also expected of this employee.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage and implement recruitment and admissions processes for the College of Arts and Sciences Graduate Program. Responsible for meeting admissions goals set in collaboration with the Program Directors and Chairs for the individual programs.
  • Manage the recruitment plan for the College of Arts and Sciences graduate programs.
  • Represent Stetson University at appropriate graduate admissions events locally and regionally.
  • Coordinate and administer on-campus and off-campus recruitment and yield events, collaborating with other university departments as necessary.
  • Plan and implement outreach and communications with prospective students and external partners as part of strategic recruitment plan.
  • Manage and administer the application review process and financial aid awards process with the Office of Graduate Admissions and designated faculty members. Coordinate communications with prospective and admitted students, the Financial Aid Office and Office of Graduate Admission.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with the Office of Graduate Admissions, Registrar’s Office, Office of Financial Planning, Alumnae Office, as well as other faculty and staff in other graduate and undergraduate departments to strengthening ties to academic departments.
  • The Recruiter continues to support and works with the Graduate Programs faculty to:
    • Ensure the marketing messages meet the program’s ability to deliver.
    • Understand the programs processes and requirements for admission.
    • Update the enrollment strategies and reports for the Office of Graduate Admissions and College of Arts and Sciences

  • Assist in working with other populations including but not limited to: other graduate students for the College of Arts and Sciences, Transfer Students, Adult Populations, and First Time in College Students, as well as special populations such as non-degree seeking, second degree seeking, and re-entry applicants.
  • Communicate with and assist Graduate Admissions Operations with daily data entry updates.
  • Assist Director of Admissions for Graduate, Transfer and Adult Populations and Assistant Director of Graduate Admissions with recruitment and outreach efforts to potential candidates, including communication through email, phone calls, text messages, social media and other platforms.
  • Participate in graduate admissions staff meetings, and other meetings as needed.
  • Performs other site and position specific functions as assigned.

ROUTINE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Daily responsibilities include communication with a large number of prospective students through heavy phone outreach. Personal e-mails, notes, individual appointments, and group presentations are also expected. This position will involve the planning of prospective student recruitment activities, extensive outreach and travel within an assigned territory.
  • Includes regular evening and weekend work, extensive phone use and telemarketing, travel, and directive counseling for individuals and groups.
  • Leads group information sessions and also meets one-on-one with parents and prospective students to provide information and assist in the application and financial planning processes; gives campus tours.
  • Must become knowledgeable about all aspects of Stetson University including academic programs, campus life, events and activities, orientation, Hatter Athletics, housing, financial planning, billing, college policies, and important dates.
  • Through heavy use of outgoing contacts via phone, email, texting, etc., the recruiter cultivates, engages, grades, persuades and closes prospective students. Always qualifies and documents conversations within CRM and generates next steps (application, FAFSA, enrollment deposit, housing application, registration, retention, etc.).
  • Record and code all interactions within the CRM Technolutions SLATE
  • Determine the best next contact for each of the hot prospects in the territory. This involves regular use of the arsenal, which comprises both printed and web information collected for this purpose and members of the campus community - i.e., faculty, alumni, current students, coaches and parents of current students.
  • Reviews files for acceptance and presents admission recommendation to admissions committee. Reviews files for scholarship.
  • After receipt of application materials, determines and informs students of acceptance and award of scholarships.
  • Makes financial planning packaging/depth sounding calls.
  • Researches, plans and executes fall and spring travel for recruitment, by evaluating previous years' productivity; coordinates travel plans with college and guidance counselors; meets with prospective students at educational fairs to inform them about the college, i.e. application process, scholarships, financial aid, majors, campus activities and on-campus housing.
  • Cultivate relationships with alumni, guidance counselors and other constituents in the territory to assist with the recruitment process and other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree; Graduate degree preferred

Required Experience
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university required (education and/or experience); Graduate degree preferred

Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and insurable under the university's auto fleet policy
