Full-Time Close All Job Summary The Department of Sociology at the University of Colorado Boulder invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor. The Department is searching for a scholar who specializes in criminology, broadly defined to include criminology, criminal justice, deviance, and/or social control. The applicant will be expected to conduct research in the field of criminology and to teach graduate and undergraduate criminology courses. The regular teaching commitment for department faculty is three courses per academic year. Applicants must have a PhD in sociology or a closely related field by the time of appointment. ABD candidates will be considered; however, the PhD must be conferred by August, 2019. Advanced Assistant Professor applicants are expected to have an established record of high-quality research; evidence of success in securing external funding is desired. The appointment will begin August 2019. The Department of Sociology faculty at the University of Colorado Boulder teach and conduct research on a wide range of social issues and problems confronting Colorado, the United States, and the world. The Department is composed of 24 tenure and tenure-track faculty and instructors who serve approximately 575 undergraduate majors and 55 graduate students.
