DescriptionTheDepartment of Biology at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs invitesapplications for a position as a tenure track Assistant Professor to start inAugust of 2019. Applicantsmust have a PhD, a strong commitment to teaching, and a fundable researchagenda that incorporates student training and focuses on animal eco-physiology.Standard load is 15 contact hours per academic year (fall and spring) in a 40%teaching, 40% research and 20% service proportion. Teaching load (3-2) will includeGeneral Ecology and Animal Physiology in addition to core and/or electivecourses in the candidate’s area of expertise. The successful applicant willhave access to an extensive mammal teaching collection, including study skins,skeletal material, and taxidermy mounts. In addition to providing an overviewof their teaching philosophy, applicants should address how they could utilizethe collection in their teaching statements.  The University enrolls ~12,000 students with ~ 750 undergraduate Biology majors.
