Assistant Professor of Electrical & Computer Engineering

 

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Western New England University seeks applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position at the level of Assistant Professor, beginning in August 2019. Candidates with a background in computer engineering are sought, preferably with expertise in both hardware and software with experience in designing and implementing embedded systems and security. The successful candidate will be asked to teach courses such as assembly language, microprocessors/embedded systems, HDL/programmable logic, software engineering, and computer architecture in addition to general engineering and electrical engineering courses. Industrial experience is desirable; excellent communication skills are required.

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering has two ABET accredited programs – one in computer engineering and one in electrical engineering. The department also offers a Master’s program that includes embedded systems as an area of specialization. Ph.D. in computer engineering, electrical engineering, computer science or a closely related field, is required and the candidate must have demonstrated ability or potential for excellence in teaching and research at the undergraduate and graduate level.
