Lecturer or Senior Lecturer of Computing

Department of Software Engineering and Game Development

Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a nine-month, non-tenure track Lecturer or Senior Lecturer of Computing faculty position in the Department of Software Engineering and Game Development, which begins August 2019.

CCSE seeks faculty interested in having a significant impact on first-year students’ learning and establishing a firm foundation for students’ later studies. Become a part of an innovative team of faculty teaching computing at KSU/CCSE.

  • Area of Specialization (as appropriate): Computing, Introduction to Programming, Software Development, Computer Science Pedagogy
  • Ability to mentor and lead graduate assistants and undergraduate assistants as they implement the lab and assess student work
  • Teaching expectations: undergraduate intro/first-year courses in computing

Other responsibilities may include:

  • Student advising and supervision
  • Working with a diverse community of students and faculty
  • Other qualifications desired, to be considered as an ideal candidate, include: a history of industry/business experience and/or a record of past teaching at an undergraduate level

Minimum degree required is a Master’s degree in Computing, or its foreign equivalent; an earned doctoral degree in Computing or its foreign equivalent is ideal. Equivalency guidelines are provided in the KSU Faculty Handbook.

Other qualifications may include:

  • Prior teaching, familiarity with programming/software development (CS1, CS2, etc.) courses for computing majors
  • Experience teaching on-line or hybrid courses
