JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) offers a wide range of summer programs focused on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) for student in grades 4-12. Our academic programs bring over 1,000 students to campus. Programs are one to four weeks in length, both day and residential. We offer programs such as aerospace engineering, biology, chemistry, computer science, electrical and computer engineering, mechanical engineering, robotics, and more! We also offer sports camps throughout the summer for students in grades 2-12, which are run in partnership with Athletics. Please see more information about our programs: www.wpi.edu/+summer.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Office of Pre-collegiate Outreach Programs is seeking to hire part-time instructors for our summer academic programs with participants in grades 4-12.  These positions are created to provide an available applicant pool for our office and will be filled on an as needed basis.  Start dates will vary depending on the program offerings.

All applicants require excellent interpersonal skills, good judgement, and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.  A successful instructor will also exhibit a positive attitude, a sense of humor, and an interest to work with students and staff from diverse backgrounds.

REQUIREMENTS:
•    Middle or high school science, technology, engineering, or mathematics teacher.
•    Conditional offer pending a criminal background check.

COMPENSATION:     
•    A payment between $2,500 - $5,500, depending on the opening
•    Lunch during program
•    An on-campus parking pass
