The English Department at Western Carolina University is seeking candidates for a tenure-track position at the rank of assistant professor, to begin August 2019.
At a minimum, applicants must have a Ph.D. with an emphasis in Rhetoric and Composition from an accredited institution by the beginning of the contract date. Candidates should have an established record of excellence in teaching composition and be prepared to teach courses in the department’s MA concentration in Rhetoric and Composition.
The area of precise research specialization within Rhetoric and Composition is open, but the successful candidate will have a solid and verifiable foundation and research agenda in composition theory (with a focus on writing across the curriculum particularly encouraged), a committed interest in serving as WPA, ideally after tenure, and a desire to participate in the development of a new BA concentration in Rhetoric. Teaching load is 3/3.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required for this Position Minimum Qualifications

Ph.D. required; ABD considered, if completion is imminent. Degree must be in hand by start date of 1 August 2019.
