The Department of Political Science is one of sixteen departments in the Thomas Harriot College of Arts and Sciences at Each Carolina University. The Department is composed of 14 full-time faculty. It offers BS and BA degrees in political science and minors in public administration, comparative politics/international relations, leadership studies, and security studies at the undergraduate level. It is also home to the multidisciplinary studies majors in security studies and international studies. At the graduate level, it offers a NASPAA-accredited Master of Public Administration degree, a Master of Science in Security Studies and certificates in public management and security studies. It emphasizes excellent teaching, quality research, and a tradition of service to the community, the university, and the discipline. East Carolina University is located in Greenville, North Carolina, a rapidly growing city of approximately 90,000. Job Duties

The Department of Political Science invites applications for part-time, fixed-term (.74 FTE or less) Teaching Instructor, Teaching Assistant Professor, Teaching Associate Professor, Teaching Professor of Public Administration for the 2019 Fall semester to teach the graduate-level course, Management of Public Information Technology. The course will be offered via Distance Education (DE).

Minimum Education/Experience

Acceptable qualifications include a Master’s degree, in the teaching discipline for undergraduate courses; or alternate professional competencies and achievements such as related graduate education, related professional certifications, related work experience, honors or awards. Doctoral/terminal degree in the teaching discipline is required to teach graduate courses. All education must be documented from an appropriately accredited institution or certified as equivalent to required accredited education.

Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education

Experience teaching online and at the graduate level preferred.
