The Department of Modern Languages & Literatures at the College of William and Mary is recruiting a pool of applicants for possible adjunct teaching positions for the summer, fall, or spring semester. Should funding for such adjunct teaching positions become available, the Department of Modern Languages & Literatures will contact persons in the pool whose credentials match our teaching needs. Your credentials will remain active as long as this pool is available, normally one year. After the pool position closes, if you are still interested in adjunct teaching, you must reapply to the most current adjunct pool. Note that we are unable to hire applicants who are not in the pool.

We are specifically seeking an individual with expertise in elementary or intermediate Italian to teach one course per semester for the 2019-2020 academic year. The position will begin August 10, 2019. Candidates must have experience in language pedagogy. The successful candidate will be expected to be an effective teacher and will have a 1-1 teaching load.

Required Qualifications

An advanced degree (M.A. or equivalent) in Italian or a closely related field as evidenced in CV, in addition to a successful proficiency-based teaching record. Ability to use instructional technology plus native or near native fluency in Italian and the ability to clearly speak and understand English.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience teaching in a U.S. college or university.
