School/Center OverviewPenn Global provides strategic direction for Penn’s global endeavors with a focus on efficient investment of university resources for global activities. Penn Global collaborates with Schools and Centers across the University and seeks to catalyze cross-school collaborations to integrate knowledge that addresses key issues. We partner with leaders from Penn and around the world to develop innovative interdisciplinary global strategies, initiatives and programs. In addition, Penn Global provides important services in support of University endeavors, including academic year study abroad, immigration services for international students and operational, compliance support for international projects and Perry World House. http://global.upenn.edu/
DutiesDrive the research, policy, public convening, and outreach agendas of the Future of the Global Order: Power, Technology, and Governance theme, in coordination with the faculty directors, including producing written outputs (reports, white papers, blog posts, opinion pieces); planning and executing several colloquia, workshops, lectures, etc. annually; and leveraging the work of theme through strategic communications. The Program Manager will utilize her/his expertise and networks in the Global Order subject area to identify prospective Visiting Fellows and Scholars and to manage the related outreach, visit planning, and output of the Fellows and Scholars. Produce presentation materials, as needed. Participate in the grant writing process for thematic area, as needed. Develop and implement graduate student programming and coordinate postdoctoral program. Coordinate related programs with the Penn Biden Center for Diplomacy and Global Engagement.
Qualifications. A Master’s degree or more and 3 years to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Expertise in one of the three subthemes of The Future of the Global Order research theme. Prior experience undertaking global policy research and analysis and/or leveraging academic research in global policy spaces. Excellent research, verbal, and written communication skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, producing high-quality written and other outputs in a timely manner. Must be able to juggle multiple responsibilities simultaneously while being on a tight deadline. Should be a team player who works collaboratively and can manage projects to completion. Demonstrated experience developing public and academic programs related to any of the subthemes of The Future of the Global Order research theme.
