The Clinical Neuroscience Lab in the Department of Psychology, within the College of Arts and Sciences, seeks a Research Associate 2-Social to join our team. The College of Arts and Sciences is the largest college and the academic heart of the university. The College hosts 81 majors. The Clinical Neuroscience Lab is directed by Dr. Ruchika Prakash and the laboratory is funded by the National Institute of Health and the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. The Research Associate 2-Social designs, develops, executes, and assists in research examining the effects of lifestyle interventions on cognitive and brain plasticity, in older adults and individuals with multiple sclerosis; plans and coordinates the conduct of experimental tests and plans the processing and analysis of research data obtained using programming experience in UNIX or Matlab; designs and implements complex data processing systems to code research data and prepares comprehensive reports on systems studies; assists in the preparation of proposals for new funding; evaluates research findings and assists in reporting results to sponsoring agencies; plans, coordinates and supervises the work of graduate students and research support personnel; position available for one year with the possibility of extension based on satisfactory performance and availability of funds.

Master’s degree in psychology or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience; considerable experience in a social science discipline.

Desired Qualifications

Ph.D. in psychology or neuroscience; considerable experience managing projects with multi-disciplinary teams, including supervising personnel, large-scale randomized control trial (RCT) data management, and process development; experience with computer programming, such as Matlab or UNIX; experience with statistical and/or neuroimaging analyses.
