Digital Services Manager

Description:
Emerson College's Office of Marketing provides strategic, tactical, and creative oversight of the College's marketing efforts, serving a broad array of audiences, institutional needs, and outcomes. Central to this work are efforts to build and disseminate powerful storytelling. The Office's Digital Services unit is responsible for designing, developing, deploying and supporting these efforts in the digital space, inclusive of the technologies, platforms, tools, and strategies that support this work.
Central to this effort, the Digital Services Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of the College's public-facing digital properties. The Digital Services Manager actively mentors a continually shifting base of over 150 content producers of varying experience and technical acumen.
By leading robust training, generating multi-faceted resources, and consulting with contributing users, the Digital Services Manager steers Emerson's digital properties to adhere to industry best-practices, College brand guidelines and applicable State and Federal regulations. The Digital Services Manager collaboratively partners with to the entire College and builds strong relationships with divisions and departments across the institution to facilitate a strategic and proactive approach to content production and presentation.
The Digital Services Manager is the main point of contact for the unit and oversees a multi-channel communication platform to ensure that College constituents remain informed of enhancements (or when necessary interruptions) in service.

Required Knowledge:
• Firm knowledge of digital content paradigms, including user experience, information architecture, layout components, and adapting written content for the digital space. • Demonstrated ability to work effectively across a complex organization to form collaborative relationships, and to work with a diverse range of constituents. • Superior written and oral communication skills, especially pertaining to training, support, and the explanation of technical concepts to non-technical users. • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communication, digital media or related field or equivalent experience. • 5-7 years managing digital properties and /or digital initiatives.

Preferred/Desirable Knowledge:
• Familiarity with Accessibility (WCAG 2.0 AA) standards and Search Engine Optimization (SEO) concepts.
