Description:

Albion College invites applications for the Director of Grounds position. The Director is responsible for developing and implementing a plan for the planning and maintenance of the College grounds. Leads a proactive team which focuses on attention to detail, curb-appeal and customer service to promote the beauty of the campus. Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize, and organize a diversified workload with sensitivity and confidentiality. Must exhibit an appreciation of, a sensitivity to, and respect for a diverse environment, inclusive of students, faculty and staff of many social, economic, cultural, ideological, racial and ethnic backgrounds.

FLSA Classification: Salaried / Exempt / Administrative & Executive

Status: Full-Time

Duration: 12 months per year


Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in related field is required or combination of education and experience commensurate with the requirements of this position
  • Minimum of five years of experience in grounds management
  • Supervisory experience required; experience in a union environment preferred
  • Certifications, training or degree related to landscaping and grounds (turf management, pesticides, etc.) preferred
  • APPA or PGMS certification preferred
  • Must have a valid, or be eligible to obtain, a Michigan driver’s license and clearing initial and periodic driving record checks
