Job Description:

We are looking for a Student Worker for our Financial Aid Department!

Financial Aid Department is looking to hire a bright, energetic, and responsible individual to assist students with the financial aid applications and process.  Financial aid and/or office work experience preferred, but not required.

This position is located in Pasadena and reports directly to Enrique Macias, Senior Financial Aid Advisor.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide general office assistance (email, phone correspondence, front desk management).
  • Assist students in completion of financial aid applications.
  • Manage scanning and linking documents into integrated scanning database.
  • Process student payments and reconcile payment reports weekly.
  • Administer filing of payment receipts and financial aid documents. 
  • Participate and support student events that require financial aid support
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:

  • Experience utilizing Canvas, Gateway and Intuit Student Resources.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor.
  • Strong organization skills.
  • Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be eligible for Financial Aid.
  • Strong computer skills including: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Able to maintain professional relationships in an academic setting with diverse patron groups.
  • Must have good customer service skills
