The Department of Slavic and East European Languages and Cultures, within the College of Arts and Sciences, seeks a Lecturer to join our team. The College of Arts and Sciences is the largest college and the academic heart of the university. The College hosts 81 majors. The Department of Slavic and East European Languages and Cultures at The Ohio State University welcomes applications for one or more renewable positions as Lecturer in Russian language and culture to begin August 2019. We are seeking a broadly-trained colleague in Russian able to teach at all levels of the Russian language as well as any of our lower-level literature, culture, and film courses delivered in English. The instructor’s responsibilities might also include appointment in the department’s Individual Instruction language program. Preference will be given to the candidates with a PhD in hand at a time of appointment, but those who are ABD or hold a Master’s degree will also be considered. Research fields of expertise are open, but interest in innovative and interdisciplinary approaches is preferred (for example, digital humanities, environmental studies, medical humanities, etc.). Native or near-native fluency in Russian and English is expected. Renewal of the position is based on performance and availability of funds.

Required Qualifications

Master’s degree or higher in Russian language; native or near-native fluency in Russian and English is expected.
