Field Assessor
The College of Education and Human Ecology at The Ohio State University is looking for a Field Assessor to join our team at the Crane Center for Early Childhood Research and Policy!
Position Overview Reporting the Program Manager, Field Assessors conduct research activities for an evaluation of the effectiveness of the Cincinnati Preschool Promise in preschools for the Cincinnati area. Research activities will involve multiple schools, classrooms, and children. The incumbent assists the principal investigator and lead research staff in the long-term and day-to-day progress towards project deliverables. The Field Assessor facilitates the collection of data including child direct assessments and teacher/classroom observations, and is responsible for verifying completeness and accuracy of assessment paperwork. This position is required to travel to schools in the assigned project area on a regular basis. Reimbursement for work-related mileage will be provided. This position requires a satisfactory background check and references.
Performance Objectives Successful candidate for this positions will accomplish the following:
•Complete training for the position, including mastery of a select battery of child direct and indirect assessments
•Assist project director with administrative tasks, such as: preparing materials to be distributed to students and teachers, communicating with teachers at schools, gathering and preparing assessment materials, and other duties as assigned
•Participate in data collection activities (to include preparing assessment training and materials, assessing children in schools, collecting teacher surveys, tracking student assessment completion, and data entry).

Position Environment The candidate selected for this part-time, temporary position will work from home, but travel to schools to complete student assessments. The hours will fluctuate based on the work available with the highest volume of hours occurring during the data collection window.
This position requires you to be available a minimum of 3 days per week (to a maximum of 5 days) typically between the hours of 8:15 am and 3:45 pm during the data collection window. There is some flexibility of those hours (e.g. a person with availability 4 days a week between 8-1 or a person that could do two full days and two half days would be considered).

Pre Employment Screening Requires the successful completion of a background check. Required Qualifications

The selected candidate for this positions must have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education/experience with a focus in Social Sciences. Experience conducting social science research is also desired.
