-Be a US Citizen, by birth or naturalization
-Skill in providing quality customer service
-Ability to read and interpret information
-Ability to prepare grammatically correct documentation and/or reports
-Ability to perform a multitude of tasks
-Ability to communicate effectively by telephone and/or radio
-Knowledge of Microsoft applications
-Ability to work rotating shifts including weekends and holidays
-A skills test may be required

Preferred Qualifications

-Ability to diplomatically deal with the public or calm down an upset person
-Certification in DPS Basic Communications
-Certification in DPS TLETS
-Certification in TTD/TTY 9-1-1 calls
-Certification in Full Access TCIC/NCIC
-Knowledge of Emergency Communications Field
-Knowledge of Law Enforcement Field
-Knowledge of University Policies and Procedures
-Knowledge of University Parking Rules and Regulations

Job Description

Responsible for receiving and prioritizing incoming calls.

Job Duties

Effectively monitor and operate multiple radios, alarms, and computer equipment; receive and prioritize incoming calls; monitor security points and process entry requests for University buildings; dispatch officers and guards; and record accurate data.
