Job Details
The School of Nursing at the University of Alaska Anchorage seeks innovative, energetic professionals to contribute to our nursing education programs which include those delivered via distance to sites throughout the state.
These positions are for full-time, tenure-track, appointment, commencing in August 2019, at the rank of Assistant Professor. The appointment period is nine months, from August to May, each academic year.
Faculty responsibilities include:
· Planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing degree curriculum, participation in university and community service activities, satisfaction of committee appointment requirements, and engagement in professional activities.
· Teaching assignment will be varied upon faculty experience and the needs of the program.
· Didactic and clinical instruction in classrooms and via distance education modalities.
· Assignment may include teaching in the nursing undergraduate or graduate programs Anchorage or one of our community campuses located throughout Alaska.
As a partner in shaping health care in Alaska, the School of Nursing educates students for current and future roles in local, state, national, and worldwide arenas, as well as for productive citizenship, personal growth, and professional nursing practice.
The School of Nursing offers undergraduate degrees of Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in nursing, Bachelor of Science (BS) in nursing science, RN- BS, as well as graduate level nursing degrees in several specialty tracks: Family Nurse Practitioner, Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner-Family and Nurse Leadership and Education.
