The William & Mary Anthropology Department invites application for a visiting assistant professor position in sociocultural anthropology that will begin in August 2019. This a one-year, non-tenure track position that may be eligible for renewal. Our preference is for a scholar specializing in either gender studies, science and technology studies, or linguistic anthropology. Area is open, but a scholar working in the Middle East, Africa, the Caribbean, or Native Studies would be welcome. The applicant must have experience teaching classes in sociocultural anthropology and will have a 3-3 teaching load.
Required QualificationsA Ph.D. in Anthropology is required at the time the candidate begins the appointment, August 10, 2019.
Preferred QualificationsEvidence of successful teaching. Research focus on either gender studies, science and technology studies, or linguistic anthropology.
