General Summary of Position:

We are looking for an experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our Health Services team to provide care to students at UMass Lowell.

Located in the Wellness Center, a multidisciplinary unit that also includes Counseling and Student Disability Services, the successful candidate will provide care for a variety of health concerns as presented by the student population. Services provided to students include but are not limted to: history taking, physical exam and diagnostic testing (may include specimen collection including venipuncture, point of care testing, and some microscopy), Identification, treatment, and/or referral of acute care emergencies, documentation of visits in electronic medical record, provision of health education,crisis intervention and patient advocacy.

Minimum Qualifications (Required):

  • Master’s Degree

    **Certification/Licensure:
  • Current certification by a nationally recognized credentialing agency
  • Current RN/CNP registration with the Massachusetts Board of Nursing
  • Current Massachusetts Controlled Substance Registration and DEA Registration
  • Minimum 1 year experience as a Nurse Practitioner in Internal Medicine, Primary Care or Urgent Care
  • Preferred Qualifications:

    • 3-5 years experience preferred
    • College Health Experience preferred

    Additional Considerations:

  • Excellent clinical knowledge and judgement
  • Ability to function independently, strategically plan and handle multiple tasks and responsibilities simultaneously
  • Demonstrated skill and proficiency in performing health care assessments and developing appropriate treatment plans
  • Experience with electronic health records
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work and communicate with a diverse population and with other health care professionals
  • Current certification by a nationally recognized credentialing agency
  • Current RN/CNP registration with the Massachusetts Board of Nursing
  • Current Massachusetts Controlled Substance Registration and DEA Registration
