Reporting to the Research Director, the Research Assistant Professor of Animal Nutrition is responsible for developing and establishing a competitively funded independent research program to address critical or emerging issues in the field of small ruminant nutrition. This is a 12-month non-tenure-track 100% research position at the Agricultural Research Station, College of Agriculture, Family Sciences and Technology.

• Develop and establish a competitively funded independent research program to address critical or emerging issues in the field of small ruminant nutrition
• Advise and mentor graduate students
• Recruit students for the animal science program
• Serve on institutional committees
• Provide services to professional organizations, the University and the community
• Perform other related duties as assigned

• Ph.D. in Animal or Ruminant Nutrition from an accredited institution
• Demonstrable competency in using available statistical software (SAS, SPSS)
• Evidence of research excellence in the area of small ruminant nutrition
• Ability to generate external funding
• Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with colleagues in teaching, research and extension
• Post-doctoral research experience preferred
