Job Title:
Associate Vice Provost of International Initiatives

Job Summary:
The Associate Vice Provost of International Initiatives leads the university-wide effort to develop and promote academic excellence through the three aspects of internationalization: outbound (study abroad and faculty-led immersions); inbound (international students and visiting scholars); and on-campus (international curricular and co-curricular opportunities). The Associate Vice Provost (AVP) reports to the Senior Vice Provost of Academic Affairs (SVPAA) and ensures progress on key strategic goals in the development of the global classroom through faculty and student mobility and a diversified faculty and student body. Drawing on the USF mission to educate social justice leaders with a global perspective, the AVP will create a truly innovative home for global learning that brings together international and local efforts to build a sustainable and just world.

Full Job Description:
The Associate Vice Provost (AVP) assists the Senior Vice Provost of Academic Affairs (SVPAA) in setting goals and objectives for mission-driven internationalization of the university on campus and around the world. The AVP serves as a liaison with academic partners around the globe to ensure international educational and research opportunities for students, faculty, and staff. The AVP works collaboratively with the deans and their staff, faculty advisory boards and committees, Student Life, University Ministry, Development, and other related offices to support internationalization at the University of San Francisco. The AVP coordinates and tracks progress on key global education initiatives for the SVPAA using a mission-driven approach, supported by available data, and shares information with university collaborators. The AVP also supervises the activities of the International Student and Scholar Services Office (ISSS), including the issuance of documents for visas for international students and exchange scholars, reporting of student and scholar status to the federal government, issuance of permissions for travel and for work experience, and other related documentation.
