The School of Arts and Sciences at the University of Houston-Victoria is accepting applications for the position of Lecturer in Communication.

Required qualifications: A doctoral degree or ABD in Communication or a related field; demonstrated excellence in teaching.

Preferred qualifications: Ability to work in multi-disciplinary and interdisciplinary setting; potential to teach online courses; experience teaching public speaking; publication record; generalist orientation with interest in a variety of communication fields.

Position summary: Teach undergraduate Speech courses with potential opportunity to teach other face to face and/or online courses in communication.
The appointment is a nine month position on a 4-4 teaching load with additional opportunities for summer teaching at attractive salaries. The successful candidate will preferably begin employment in fall 2019, but the start date is negotiable.

The University of Houston-Victoria, located in the heart of the Coastal Bend region, offers courses leading to 70 bachelor’s and master’s degree programs and concentrations in the schools of Arts & Sciences; Business Administration; and Education, Health Professions & Human Development. UHV provides face-to-face classes at its Victoria campus, as well as teaching sites in Fort Bend and Harris counties, and online classes that students can take from anywhere.
