The Office of Student Affairs at Messiah College has an opening for a Coordinator of Student Involvement & Leadership Programs.  This is a full time, 12-month position with limited hours of 20 per week during the months of June and July.

Responsibilities: Under the direction and supervision of the Director of Student Involvement & Leadership Programs, the Coordinator will assist to advance the mission of Messiah College through the holistic development of students and by contributing effectively to the ongoing work of student success. This work includes planning and implementing Fall Welcome Week and Winter Orientation activities for all new, incoming students. The Coordinator will contribute to the successful transition, retention, and involvement of students, with an emphasis on support programs and services for commuter and transfer students. Additional responsibilities will include coordinating office administration and services as directed.

Qualifications: Master’s degree required, preferably in higher education or related field, and 1-2 years experience programming in higher education.

Skills and Characteristics:  Excellent interpersonal skills and positive attitude; excellent organizational, time-management, and program-design skills; demonstrated knowledge and understanding of diversity; strong verbal and written communication abilities; ability to work collaboratively with staff and students; training, teaching and mentoring abilities, including budget management; demonstrated commitment to continued learning/professional development; highly professional, motivated, and creative; conflict-resolution and problem-solving skills; demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the stages of student development and the importance of holistic education.
