Position Description
  • The College of Nursing at the University of Toledo invites applications from highly-motivated candidates for a full-time, 52-week, benefits-eligible, tenure-track faculty position in the Department of Adult and Population Health.  The applicant must have a Family Nurse Practitioner background. Start date is July 1, 2019.

    Position Summary

    The qualified candidate will maintain a teaching assignment in the area of expertise.  Qualifications include meeting all instructional requirements, including class and clinical scheduling, clinical site visits, preparing for class/clinical, evaluating assignments, assessing student learning outcomes and program evaluation. Other duties include:

    • Advising students on professional and/or course related matters.
    • Participating in curriculum development including
      designing, reviewing, and revising courses and
      programs.
    • Chairing and/or servicing on Capstone experience, if applicable.
    • Supervising clinical mentors, clinical preceptors, teaching assistants and clinical
      associates according to approval and accrediting agencies.

    This position is accountable to the Dean of the College of Nursing through the direct supervision of the Department Chair and is expected to participate in teaching, scholarly activities and service commensurate with criteria for faculty rank.

     

  • Qualifications
    An MSN is required. A Doctorate degree is required in Nursing or closely related field, PhD preferred. Must have an unencumbered current license as a Registered Nurse in the state of Ohio or are eligible for RN licensure in Ohio. The qualified candidate must have a minimum of two years of clinical nursing experience as a registered nurse.  Previous teaching experience is preferred. Must meet background check
    requirements based on Ohio statutes.
