Counselor, Student Accounts

This position reports to the Associate Director of Student Accounts and plays a crucial role in the counseling of students, parents, and other stakeholders in all areas of Student Accounts/Billing as well as introductory information related to financial aid and financing an Emerson education. This position is part of a five person team and assists with the daily operations and may lead special projects and initiatives.

Campus Location: Boston Campus

Required Knowledge:
• Ability to understand college policies and regulations;
• Prior experience using an enterprise system such as Banner, PeopleSoft, or similar;
• Excellent Microsoft Office skills;
• Commitment to and ability to work with diverse populations;
• Ability to work in a fast-paced office;
• Strong team player and effective communication skills.

Preferred/Desirable Knowledge:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience. 1-3 years of experience in higher education. Knowledge of financial aid, admission, student accounts, or student services; Experience working with diverse student populations.

Required Prior Work Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience. At least one year of experience working within higher education or customer service field. Prior experience in the areas of: financial aid, registration, and/or student accounts office is a plus.
