Loyola University Chicago’s Quinlan School of Business invites applications for a position in Information Systems in the Information Systems and Supply Chain Management (ISSCM) Department. Preferred areas of specialization include: Data Visualization, Human Computer Interaction, Dashboarding and On-Line Analytical Processing (OLAP), Use of Biometrics in Information Systems, Business Intelligence, Data Analysis, Data Warehousing, Data Mining, Database Systems. This tenure-track appointment, starting Fall 2019, may be made at the Assistant or Associate Professor level depending on qualifications.
Qualifications include a Ph.D. or DBA in Information Systems or a related field such as Analytics or Computer Science. The position requires a serious commitment to teaching and research, in addition to service responsibilities. The faculty member will be engaged in teaching information systems courses ranging from introductory undergraduate courses to specialized upper level and graduate level courses (such as Data Visualization). In addition, the faculty member will be engaged in developing new courses (such as Human Computer Interaction or Biometrics IS). Regardless of the course level, the faculty member is expected to exhibit focus, determination, and enthusiasm for the course and the students. The faculty member is also expected to engage in dynamic discipline-related research producing a continuous stream of quality scholarly publications as well as other results of their scholarship. Being a good colleague, willing to serve and contribute to a positive work environment in the department, school, and University, is paramount. The Quinlan School of Business is located at the Water Tower Campus, in the heart of Chicago’s downtown Gold Coast neighborhood. Quinlan is composed of the following departments: Accounting and Business Law, Economics, Finance, ISSCM, Management, and Marketing. Information systems faculty members in the ISSCM department teach courses in the undergraduate, Master of Science in Information Systems Management (MSISM), Master of Business Administration (MBA), Graduate Certificate in Business Data Analytics, and Executive Education programs.
