Vet Care Tech – Tier III – ECC: Work involves assisting a veterinarian in technical procedures and activities involving animal care, specifically in the areas of pain management and critical care. Successful candidate assists team clinicians and care-giving colleagues with the reception, treatment, and monitoring of all patients within the Small Animal Emergency Critical Care unit. Candidate oversees and instructs professional veterinary students in preparation of animals and equipment for medical procedures and delivery of care. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following: supervising and performing ordered treatments for ECC and hospitalized patients; assisting with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures; transmitting case updates to oncoming colleagues; assisting in care of emergency cases brought to small animal receiving area; and preparing and submitting charge tickets for all services rendered according to hospital fee schedules. The successful candidates will be expected to work 40 hours a week on first shift between the hours of 7:00 and 6:00 pm with required holidays based on a team rotation. Schedule will be determined by the unit. Candidate must be a Registered Veterinary Technician in the state of Ohio and complete a background check.

Pre Employment Screening Requires the successful completion of a background check. Required Qualifications

Degree from an accredited veterinary technology program; or an associate’s degree or bachelor’s degree; completed and successfully passed VTNE prior to hire date; State of Ohio Registered Veterinary Technician at the time of hire.

Desired Qualifications

Board certification/recognition from the Academy of Veterinary Technician Anesthetists and the Academy of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Technicians; previous experience as a licensed, registered veterinary technician and/or Veterinary Assistant; prior experience especially focusing on anesthesiology and/or critical services.
