General Summary Candidate will perform the duties of a media specialist with a strong focus on teaching, instructional design and the promotion of reading. The library media specialist will work collaboratively with faculty and administration to ensure the students and staff are effective, ethical users and creators of information, to provide physical and intellectual access to materials in multiple formats and to encourage an enjoyment and appreciation for reading.

Required Qualifications 1. Bachelor's Degree
2.Type 09 Teaching License or equivalent
3.If this position is Security Sensitive or if you are subject to a criminal background investigation based on University policy, employment is contingent upon you passing a satisfactory criminal background investigation. You may not begin work until the criminal background investigation results have been received and cleared by Human Resources.
Desired Qualifications: 1.Master's Degree in Library Science or related field
2.Five years' experience as a high school Library Media Specialist.
3.Has current Library Media Specialist certification as required by the Illinois State Board of Education.

Hiring Rate/Range Commensurate with experience and qualifications
Work Hours School hours, with occasional work beyond regular school hours.
