The University of North Georgia (UNG) is currently accepting applications for an Assistant or Associate Professor of Computer Information Systems in the Department of Computer Science and Information Systems at the Mike Cottrell College of Business (MCCB). This is a full-time tenure-track position with benefits with a start date of August 1, 2018. UNG is a University System of Georgia institution, and the MCCB is an AACSB-accredited college of business that offers programs in the North Georgia region. The MCCB serves more than 4,400 students in our service area. The position will be located at the Dahlonega campus, which offers abundant cultural and recreational opportunities as well as an outstanding quality of life. The department offers a B.S. in computer science, a B.B.A. in information systems, a graduate certificate in IT leadership, graduate certificate in cybersecurity, a concentration in Information Assurance and Security, five minors in specialized domains of computer science, and an Associate’s degree in computer science.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
  • The faculty member will teach introductory and upper division information systems courses for business and information systems majors and minors, as well as some general education information technology courses.
  • The faculty member will also advise majors, participate in scholarship within the discipline, and serve the academic community.
  • The standard teaching load for an academically qualified Assistant or Associate Professor is 18 credit hours per academic year. Extra teaching load, including summer, may be assigned, with the possibility of travel to other campuses.
  • Perform other related duties may be assigned.
Certifications/Licenses & Minimum Requirements:
  • A doctorate in information systems or closely related field is required at the time of appointment.
