Assistant Professor of Information Technology/Computer Science (tenure-track)
The Department of Technology & Mathematics at Dalton State College seeks applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Information Technology/Computer Science. The position begins on August 01, 2019.
Earned Doctorate or Master’s in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
(a) Experience with IPv4/IPv6 addressing, protocols for routers and switches, Java programming, Linux, Network Security, PC Maintenance, SQL Databases, Computer Imaging Systems, Web Programming, and/or Telecommunications.
(b) Valid certifications with leading IT industry organizations, such as Cisco, CompTIA, (ISC)2, EC Council, etc., and/or a desire to earn additional certifications.
Responsibilities of this position include:
(a) The standard teaching load is 27-28 credits per academic year.
(b) Academic advising and mentoring, planning and assessment, keeping office hours, other college and community service, and professional development
(c) Directing student research projects
(d) Faculty may be required to teach day, evening, off-campus, or online courses.
