Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering or Otolaryngology or related fields. Must have experience with animal models and tissue culture techniques. The candidate will work with PI on cochlear implantation projects. The candidate will use his/her prior expertise and experience to plan and execute laboratory research projects in close collaboration with the PI. Specifically, the duties and responsibilities for this position may include, but are not limited to, providing technical support for ongoing scientific research projects; maintaining accurate records of procedures and experiments; assisting with analysis of experiments; setting up and operating laboratory equipment; preparing experimental materials using laboratory protocols and safety guidelines and perform animal research in compliance with IACUC and UM policies. Demonstrated creative thinking skills as it relates to identifying and recommending solutions to problems. Knowledge of routine office practices and procedures. Ability to quickly learn and master new techniques. Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions. Ability to successfully work with considerable independence. Ability and willingness to collaborate and work well within a team environment. Excellent English communication skills, both written and oral required. Any appropriate combination of relevant education, certification(s) and/or work experience may be considered.
