  • Oversee and manage student services on campus, including activities, student facilities, programs, intramural sports, and personnel;
  • Plan and schedule events, including negotiating contracts with outside vendors;
  • Oversee residential life function and student housing;
  • Oversee student clubs and organizations, in an advisory capacity;
  • Meet regularly with key constituencies regarding shared concerns;
  • Provide programs on leadership development and professionalism;
  • Provide appropriate support services and resources for students needing counseling and psychological assistance;
  • Administer all matters under the Law School’s Code of Student Professionalism and Conduct;
  • Support university and college officials with federal compliance;
  • Provide and promote opportunities for students to gain an appreciation for diversity, inclusion, and an understanding of multi-culturalism;
  • Assist with strategic planning for the College of Law;
  • Provide recommendations and draft new policies, and amend existing policies, as needed;
  • Manage and administer departmental budget;
  • Serve on assigned departmental committees and represent
    the Office of Student Affairs on campus-wide committees;
  • Oversee mental health support services, including supervision of clinical mental health staff;
  • Plan and administer new student orientation;
  • Serve as Deputy Title IX Coordinator for Students;Serve on University-wide committees as assigned;
  • May be required to maintain on-call emergency response status in the event of emergency activities affecting the College of Law.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills

Qualifications include:

  • Ability to form positive relationships with and effectively work with a diverse student body, faculty, and staff on two law campuses.
  • Ability to work irregular and flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
  • Demonstrated leadership in campus operations and student services administration.
  • Demonstrated knowledge or experience working with student organizations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge or experience administering student conduct proceedings or Title IX proceedings.
  • A high degree of professionalism, discretion, and excellent judgment in difficult situations.
  • Strong oral, written, organizational, communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to strategically and sensitively ask questions, evaluate responses, weigh information, and determine responsibility, with an eye toward maximizing educational opportunities consistent with College of Law values and professional ethical and professional expectations.
  • Supervisory experience and ability to set a positive tone, project a professional and positive image of the College of Law and University.
  • Strong time management skills, positive attitude, and ability to juggle multiple priorities.
  • Familiarity with national best practices and emerging issues for student development and risk management.
  • Works to build an environment that promotes and facilitates the success of Diversity and Inclusive Excellence.
Required Experience

Preferred:

J.D. and/or a Master’s or Ph.D. in Student Personnel, Counseling, or Higher Education Administration strongly preferred.

Required:

Bachelor’s degree and at least 7 years’ of student affairs or equivalent experience required.
