Job SummaryAssistant Professor of Education to teach undergraduate and graduate education courses starting in the fall of 2019. The successful candidate will be expected to teach multiple sections of introductory Education courses, as well as supervise student teachers in local area k12 schools. This is a ten-month position, tenure-track position carrying a 4/4 load and the appropriate committee and scholarship requirements.

    Teach introductory, foundation, and general education courses with a focus on middle level courseworkProvide program oversight, coordination, and student advisement for middle level programSupervise student teachers in field placements in local middle schoolsParticipate in university-public school partnership activitiesParticipate in service to the department, college, and universityHave an expressed research agenda with published scholarship related to the discipline
Required Qualifications
    Earned doctorate in Education (doctoral candidates considered with requisite experience)Extensive experience in Middle Level Education including coursework regarding young adolescents and middle level learnersThree years of full-time teaching experience in middle level classroomsSuccessful undergraduate and graduate college teaching experiencesAbility to teach a wide range of education courses for candidates concentrating in elementary, middle, and secondary educationExcellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
