Job Summary/Basic Function:
The successful candidate will work to characterize, simulate, and analyze data for demonstration of phononic, surface waves and photonic waves through metamaterials designed for the NSF EFRI project. They will also generate data for publications in high impact factor journals and work independently to develop new ideas for research publications and/or proposals in acoustical encryption and develop new applications for uni-directional wave phenomena.

Minimum Qualifications:
Ph.D. in phononics or photonics or closely related field
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in ultrasonic or optical spectroscopy, microscopy, and additive manufacturing methods such as laser-assisted metallic 3D printing or 3D nanolithography methods. Familiarity with numerical simulations of fluid-dynamics or electrodynamic problems (CST MWS/COMSOL/LUMERICAL/MEEP).
