Position Summary:

Incumbent provides expert consultation on all facets of trauma database management. Ensures mandated patient data is accurate, up to date, and timely submitted to regulatory and benchmarking agencies (i.e. OCEMS, TQIP). Collects, analyzes, and summarizes data for key stakeholders of the trauma program including Trauma Program Manager, Trauma Medical Director, Senior Medical Center executives, committees, department leaders, managers, and clinicians to support departmental and hospital-wide forecasting and planning. The incumbent is also responsible for the development of trauma registry reports, as well as the training, education and direction of other trauma program staff. Maintains the performance improvement database and supports the quality and patient safety program, including validation, analysis and recommendations re: trauma performance improvement and TQIP benchmark data. Responds to ad-hoc requests as needed.

Salary Range:

Rate Minimum $57,400.00 Maximum $97,300.00

Required Qualifications:

5 years of experience working in a hospital based environment specifically in trauma database management, analysis, and reporting

Ability to anticipate questions and address information needs by providing comprehensive analyses

Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload

Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Demonstrate sensitivity to competing demands in a changing and complex environment and manage appropriately.

Demonstrated experience using MS Excel and Access

Demonstrated knowledge of Trauma One, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word

Demonstrated knowledge of trauma workflow, system, and subsystems

Demonstrated skill in database management

Demonstrates direct, professional, and collaborative communication style.

Evidence of sound critical thinking skills and the ability to think creatively and strategically

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

Interact and maintain good personal relations with all levels in the organization.

Must demonstrate ability to communicate with staff and senior management

Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job

Must possess general knowledge of various reporting agencies (NTDB, TQIP, OCEMS, etc.)

Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties

Strong organizational skills to prioritize work and meet deadlines

Working knowledge of computer software and medical terminology

Preferred Qualifications:

AAAM AIS Coding Certification

Certified Specialist in Trauma Registries (CSTR)

Demonstrated advanced level of analytical skill

Experience in performance improvement

Experience with SQL

ICD-10 Trauma Coding Certification

Lean Six Sigma Certification

Master's Degree preferably in Hospital or Health Services Administration
