Position Summary

The Liaison for Learning Communities and Faculty Development Initiatives - will develop, implement, and evaluate faculty development initiatives and programs offered through TLT as well as participate in and coordinate key initiatives across the university. - will develop, coordinate and participate in building learning communities by developing synergistic relationships with NYU sites, schools, departments, and faculty members across the University to identify faculty development needs and programs and develop a strategic curricular program to support the educational goals of NYU's Global Network University. - will Engage with NYU IT Leadership, Provostial initiatives, and University IT Governance and Advisory Group efforts in the key areas of faculty development and building of learning communities. - will be adept in educational technologies, have experience in teaching and training in higher education, and will coordinate and lead synergistic initiatives across the university. The successful candidate will have a strong background in pedagogy and technology, have excellent interpersonal skills, exercising strong organizational and time-management skills with an exceptional attention to detail. Essential for this role is the adeptness to work independently as well as part of a team.

Qualifications

Required Education:Master's Degree Masters Degree in any of the related fields: instructional design, educational technology, educational psychology, teaching and learning in higher education.Preferred Education:Doctoral Degree in any of the related fields: instructional design, educational technology, educational psychology, teaching and learning in higher education.Required Experience:7+ years 7-10 years’ progressively responsible professional experience in a higher education and/or information technology environment in instructional design and faculty development. Should have higher education teaching experience and experience working with faculty and students. Experience developing workshops or other faculty training programs. Experience working with instructional technologies and online learning. Pedagogy experience, to include active learning theories and research in teaching and learning. Management experience is helpful in particular coordinating efforts across multiple units ..Preferred Experience:7+ years 7-10 years experience in a higher education environment and/or a combination with corporate training environment, instructional design and especially developing and/or supporting research and teaching innovation; developing and designing graphical elements of web applications, administering, writing and/or managing grant-funded instructional technology projects; and collaboration with college faculty on application development..Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation, written skills and ability to coordinate with pedagogical and technical teams and team members. Excellent writing skills and ability to translate research articles into usable practical white papers and resources. Ability to research, curate, compile and develop materials to support faculty and instructional technologists to create optimal teaching and learning activities.Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Knowledge of learning sciences, research methodologies, agile instructional design approaches. Experience working in multiple LMSs and platforms so as to be able to build training programs in them. Advanced skills in website curation and development. Flexible and quick learner with an ability to adapt to changing landscapes and priorities.
