Nature of Work

The student in this position will assist with filing, outreach, programming, special projects, and other clerical tasks as assigned. This position reports to the Administrative Assistant in the Student Health Center. The student in the position will work up to 19 hours per week based on need. The weekly schedule will be assigned by the supervisor in conjunction with the student’s class schedule. The work schedule is subject to change between semesters as needed. Students are not to work during scheduled classes.
Student must have a high level of integrity as they may come into contact with confidential information. Student will sign a confidentiality agreement.

Essential Duties
  • Assist with programming efforts for the health center (event set up, create advertising materials, research health topics)
  • Assist with marketing efforts for the department including creating signage, banners, and social media campaigns.
  • Distributes flyers and other information for the Student Health Center.
  • Complete general office duties including typing, copying, faxing, shredding, etc.
  • Runs errands on campus
  • Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications and Training
  • Must be enrolled in six credit hours.
  • Must be able to pass a background check
  • Possess strong customer service and communication skills
  • Must have knowledge of general office equipment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
  • Must be comfortable speaking in front of groups
  • Work with confidential information
  • Must display a professional attitude at all times.
  • Must be dependable, punctual, organized, and friendly
Preferred Qualifications and Training
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations
  • Experience or knowledgeable in designing flyers, brochures and other marketing materials.
  • Experience in managing a social media account such as Facebook
  • Some experience in an office setting.
