Job Duties

Reporting to the Head of the Teaching Resources Center (TRC), the Education & Instructional Technology Librarian will promote the use of multimedia and technologies, integrate library resources and instruction into online classes, and provide instructional sessions, reference services, and consultations, both online and face-to-face, to students and faculty primarily within the College of Education. This individual will recommend and provide leadership and training for current and emerging K-12 technologies and create and maintain research guides (LibGuides) and online tutorials. Additionally, the selected candidate will provide leadership and manage Joyner Library’s 3D Print Studio. As a member of the TRC team, the person in this position will actively contribute to departmental strategic planning, projects, and events. Some evening and weekend work is required. Finalists will be asked to make a presentation during their on-campus interview.

Minimum Education/Experience

•ALA – accredited master’s degree or international equivalent in library or information science
•Library reference experience
•Instructional experience
•Experience with current and emerging educational technologies including their utilization in classroom and library settings
•Demonstrated knowledge of technologies related to online learning, such as course management software, e.g., Blackboard and Canvas, and web conferencing software, e.g., Webex and Skype
•Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
•Ability to manage projects and work both independently and as part of a team in a rapidly changing environment
•Ability to effectively work with diverse students, faculty, staff, and community users

License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation

NONE

Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education

•Academic or Curriculum Materials Center experience directly relevant to the responsibilities of this position
•Demonstrated ability to assess and appropriately implement new and emerging methods/technologies for the delivery of instructional services
•Familiarity with Common Core State Standards and/or other state standards
•Experience managing 3D printing services
•Knowledge of current issues and trends in K-12 education
•Demonstrated interest in ongoing professional growth
